Cycleco

Rigorous Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) ensuring true sustainability and social impact.

Cycleco is in charge of the RETURN project’s Work Package 6, which focuses on sustainability, circularity, and social impact. Cycleco is based in France. They specialize in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), eco-design, and environmental footprinting. They provide the rigorous data needed to validate a project’s green credentials.

Innovation must be measurable. Cycleco uses advanced LCA methods to measure the environmental impact of the RETURN value chain. This includes everything from the energy used by the AI sorting bots to the chemical impact of the DES process. By comparing these metrics against traditional smelting, Cycleco provides the hard evidence of RETURN’s carbon reduction potential (targeting >50% reduction).

Cycleco also does Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA), which looks at how the world will change when we start using a circular economy. They make sure that RETURN’s technologies are good for the environment and for society. This helps to create a fair and inclusive European raw materials sector. They also do a Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA), which makes sure that sustainability and profitability go together.
