GAP Polymers

Transforming waste management logistics to feed the next generation of critical material recovery.

GAP Polymers Ltd. (GAP Group North East Limited) is an essential part of the RETURN project. GAP is one of the UK’s top independent recyclers. It processes millions of units of electronic waste every year, including over 700,000 refrigerators. GAP has the logistics and business knowledge needed to make circular solutions real.

GAP is in charge of Work Package 1 (Strategy Review), and its job is to make sure that RETURN’s new ideas are based on what the market will actually buy. They are responsible for creating a plan that combines the company’s technology with what the market wants. GAP is the main provider of the materials needed for the project. They use their large collection networks to supply the specific types of electronic waste needed for optimization.

GAP’s role is more than just logistics; they’re the key commercial partner for the future. GAP is working with DEScycle to open the first DES recycling facility. This partnership shows the project’s ambition: to add advanced deep-tech solutions to existing high-volume recycling infrastructure, creating an immediate and noticeable impact on Europe’s resource efficiency.
